One of the current methods of treating bladder cancer is chemotherapy. Chemotherapy has a substantial effect in reducing the number of cancer cells because its mechanism of action aims to induce cell death and inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells. However, patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment often experience various symptoms that can originate from the side effects of chemotherapy itself. This study aims to evaluate the description of the side effects of chemotherapy drugs in bladder cancer patients at Dr. Pirngadi Regional Hospital. Methods: This study was conducted using a retrospective observational study design with a cross-sectional design. Sampling in this study used the Total Sampling technique. The samples obtained were 42 samples. Data collection was obtained through secondary data taken from medical records obtained from Dr. Pirngadi Regional Hospital, Medan City and analyzed using univariate tests. Results: The most commonly used chemotherapy drugs by bladder cancer patients were the combination of gemcitabine-cisplatin (64.3%) and epirubicin (35.7%) and the most common side effects were dyspepsia (34.5%), followed by joint pain (23.6%), allergic responses and swelling (12.7%), infection (5.5%), thrombocytopenia and constipation (3.6%), hypovolemic shock (1.8%), vertigo, and neutropenia (0.9%). Conclusion: The most commonly used chemotherapy drugs by bladder cancer patients at Dr. Pirngadi Regional Hospital were gemcitabine-cisplatin with the most common side effect being dyspepsia.</p> Albi Maulana, Hasroni Fathurrahman Copyright (c) 2026 Educare: Journal Educational and Multimedia https://seaninstitute.or.id/bersinar/index.php/ducare/article/view/275 Thu, 10 Sep 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Strengthening Self-Care through PHBS Education for Children with Special Needs at PKBM Rizqi Ananda https://seaninstitute.or.id/bersinar/index.php/ducare/article/view/277 <p>This community service activity aims to improve health knowledge, self-care skills, and awareness of clean and healthy living behaviors among children with special needs at PKBM ABK Rizqi Ananda, Hamparan Perak District. Although benign, inappropriate treatment can lead to complications, including the risk of recurrence and the development of epilepsy. Therefore, the competence of health workers in recognizing and managing febrile seizures is very important. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and skills of health workers in managing febrile seizures in children with age, gender, education, and length of service at RSU Haji Medan. Methods: This quantitative study with a descriptive analytical approach and cross-sectional design involved 75 health workers, including doctors, nurses, and midwives, who were selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test (α= 0.05). Results: A total of 54.7% of respondents had good knowledge and 50.7% had good skills. There was a significant relationship between age, education, and length of service with knowledge and skills (p &lt; 0.001), but not with gender. Respondents aged ≥40 years, medical education, and having ≥10 years of service showed higher competence. Conclusion: The knowledge and skills of health workers are classified as good, but still need to be improved in groups with lower experience and education through routine training and continuous learning.</p> Maulana Zikra Fajriansyah, Nurcahaya Sinaga, Juliana Batu Bara Copyright (c) 2026 Educare: Journal Educational and Multimedia https://seaninstitute.or.id/bersinar/index.php/ducare/article/view/278 Tue, 22 Sep 2026 00:00:00 +0000
